Union Leaders Rear Thier Ugly Heads

There is a lot of talk right now about the proposed card check bill which would take away one of our most fundamental rights in a democracy, the secret ballot. The entire point of the secret ballot is to disallow intimidation in the voting process. One should vote for who or what they want without fear of reprisal or ridicule. What I find ironic is the Democrats who so espouse their support for civil rights are the ones that support this card check proposal. According to a recent Rasmussen poll only nine percent of non-union workers think they would like to work for a union. I am curious to know how many union employees would prefer not to work for a union especially when they are being intimidated into striking without hearing both sides. I have never worked for a union but my husband does and they are actually in the process of bargaining for their contract and are most likely going to go on strike. He works for AT & T, and almost every day I look on the CWA website to see what is going on. If the contract negotiations did not have such an economic impact on my own life it would be funny to read. There is so much propaganda, and they actually have the audacity to have signs that say "tear down the wall." Now I do not want to compare unions to communism but one must admit they use many of the same tactics. The rules do not apply to the Union Leaders that apply to the workers, they get paid no matter what and quite well. It appears to me since they are not fighting for true injustices they have to rear their ugly heads every couple of years to seem relevant. I would hazard to guess not a one has any economic background, not including a Marxist background. They would rather have the company lay off more employees and/or go bankrupt then give in to anything. They say the company is not willing to negotiate, and they are able to say this because they follow the same logic as most Democrats, since bipartisanship is only when the Republicans give in to the Democratic proposals, the company is only negotiating if they give in to every whim of the union. Every body else in the country knows health care costs are going up, but the union for some reason does not think the employees using said services should pay more. Again another correlation with communism. Everybody should get the same no matter what, except the leaders of the party, I mean union. To get back to the CWA website with all their half truths, they do not actually give specifics as to what the company is proposing they just use weighted, vague terms to make the workers feel slighted. I wish AT & T would use some propaganda of their own and explain their side of the negotiations, but that is considered intimidation, and if anybody knows what intimidation is, it is Union Leaders.
